ABOUT
The Sino-French workshop, to be held on 14-17 November, 2021 in Najing University will be concentrated on high-z galaxies and (proto)clusters. The main idea is to convey a small, but specialized meeting between both observers and theoreticians, to summarize recent key breakthroughs in the field of high-redshift galaxies and (proto)clusters, and to duscuss whether and how they may challenge current simulaitons/theories.
The main topics that will be discussed in this meeting:
1. To summarize the basic characteristics and abundance of recently revealed significant populations of both quiescent and dusty galaxies at z>4, discuss whether and how they may challenge current galaxy formation models, and how to reproduce them in numerical simulations.
2. To discuss how to characterize the various different types of galaxy clusters and protoclusters at z > 2, summarize novel insights into the formation process of clusters (including their ICM and ICL), and examine whether and how the early dense environment affects massive galaxy assembly.
3. To discuss the cosmic evolution of the amount of gas, star formation efficiency, and dynamical properties in massive galaxies across cosmic time, and their impact on the star formation and quenching in massive galaxies.
The workshop is by invitation only and there are no registration fees.
