Good Travel Management (GTM) and CT Travel Group (CTTG) have merged in a strategic partnership, resulting in the creation of a new £85 million travel group. This move is supported by the John Good Group, a Hull-based majority investor in both businesses. The merger aims to accelerate growth in the business travel, incentive, groups and events, trade missions, and leisure travel markets. Physical office locations have now been established in London, Kent, and Yorkshire, extending their reach within the UK.
GTM, based in Hessle, Hull, had already acquired Wexas’s corporate travel business in 2023 and is well-positioned to serve business travelers. The company is known for its client-focused service and has a long-standing reputation in the travel industry, having operated since the late 1800s.
CTTG, headquartered in Tunbridge Wells, operates several brands, including CT Business Travel, CT Groups Conferences & Incentives, CT Trade Missions, and Pettitts Travel. These brands are focused on continued growth across corporate and leisure markets. Mark Kempster, the founder of CTTG, expressed excitement about the merger and the opportunity it presents for market expansion.
Kempster is joined by business partners Tom Kempster and Clare Collins as shareholders in the new enterprise, alongside the John Good Group. With this new partnership, CTTG and GTM aim to align their values around people and service, creating a stronger combined market presence.
Adam Walsh, CEO of John Good Group, highlighted the merger’s intent to set a new benchmark for travel businesses. The unified group promises a future centered around innovation, sustainability, and exceptional service. Walsh emphasized the shared growth ambitions and outlook of the companies, which have a mutual focus on delivering exemplary service to travelers.
Walsh further acknowledged the entrepreneurial achievements of CTTG over its 37-year history under Kempster’s leadership. They aim to carry forward these values and become the preferred travel company for businesses and consumers alike. The focus remains not only on growing domestically but also on expanding internationally, ensuring clients experience high-quality service. This partnership marks another milestone in the long history of the John Good Group’s involvement in the travel sector.
The merger signifies a landmark transformation in the travel sector, driven by mutual ambition and shared values.
