- Seasons will cater initially to the UK market, with international expansion plans by the end of 2025.
- Next observes a consumer trend towards purchasing fewer, higher-quality items, aligning with the platform’s offerings.
Next has launched a new online platform called Seasons, designed to focus on premium and luxury fashion brands. Announced earlier, this initiative builds on the retailer’s successful acquisition of a stake in Reiss, aiming to offer a curated selection of high-end labels to a broader audience.
The launch of Seasons marks Next’s strategy to expand its third-party business by creating a dedicated ecosystem for premium brands. The online store features renowned names like Ganni, Marc Jacobs, and Tory Burch. Next is keen on strengthening long-term relationships with these brands, with plans to grow its portfolio and target the next tier of luxury labels.
Chief executive Lord Wolfson highlighted the move as a response to changing consumer behavior. “We’re definitely seeing more traction at the mid and higher end of our price architecture, than the base,” he said. This shift reflects shoppers’ preference for fewer but higher-quality purchases, a trend Next aims to capitalize on through its premium offerings on Seasons.
The platform’s initial focus will be on the UK market, with further ambitions to scale internationally by late 2025 or early 2026. This expansion reflects Next’s confidence in the demand for luxury fashion worldwide, aligning with its broader business goals.
Seasons positions Next strategically within the luxury fashion market, responding to evolving consumer preferences.
