Gymshark is setting a new standard with the opening of its ‘Twists ‘n’ Sets’ pop-up salon in Shoreditch, East London. This unique venture celebrates Black History Month and aims to create an inclusive space addressing the challenges faced by individuals with textured hair when it comes to fitness.
The salon will be operational for three days from October 25-27, situated at 2 Hoxton St, London, N1 6NG. Visitors can engage in one-on-one consultations with a trichologist or select from various express hair styling services, thanks to Gymshark’s partnership with Ruka Hair.
Furthermore, the salon features an array of hair products and accessories suited for all hair types, providing a comprehensive shopping experience. This pop-up experience also includes the opportunity to explore Gymshark’s Diffuse Sweat Headband, a product initially launched to overwhelming demand.
Research indicates 45% of black women refrain from gym activities due to hair maintenance concerns. Gymshark actively seeks to dismantle these barriers, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in fitness.
Earlier this year, the brand introduced the Diffuse Sweat Headband, which sold out rapidly. Now, alongside the relaunch of this product, ‘Twists ‘n’ Sets’ offers a range of new styles and color options, ensuring a sleeker design to enhance workout experiences without compromising style.
Access to walk-in shopping is available; however, all salon appointments have sold out, reflecting the high demand and community interest.
Aaliyah Dickens, Gymshark’s global culture manager, emphasized the brand’s dedication to addressing community feedback, stating, “When our community let us know that they were avoiding the gym because of concerns about hair maintenance, we couldn’t sit around and do nothing.”
Gymshark’s ‘Twists ‘n’ Sets’ salon exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to integrating fitness and hair care, offering innovative solutions to longstanding challenges.
