- These efforts by Morrisons aim to ensure Christmas dinners are budget-friendly without compromising on quality.
Morrisons is stepping up to make sure that holiday meals do not strain budgets this festive season. From December 18 to 24, More Card holders will have the opportunity to purchase essential British-grown vegetables at an incredible price of just 10p each. These include carrots, parsnips, Brussels sprouts, and whole swede, all key components of a traditional Christmas dinner.
Continuing its commitment to providing value, Morrisons has also reduced the price of its British Best potatoes. These potatoes are now available at half price, costing £1.15 for a 2kg bag until January 1. This not only benefits consumers but also supports local British farmers, aligning with Morrisons’ pledge to invest over £1.4 billion annually into British farming.
Fraser Lovatt, Morrisons category director of produce and horticulture, highlighted the importance of seasonal vegetables for a complete festive roast. Lovatt stated, ‘No Christmas dinner is complete without all the trimmings of the seasonal vegetables. By cutting the costs of products like carrots, parsnips, sprouts and potatoes, we are helping customers get all they need for the perfect festive roast without breaking the bank.’
In addition to vegetable offers, Morrisons has also put other essential festive items on sale. Offers include a half-price deal on Market Street Whole Salmon until January 5 and discounted prices on celebratory drinks such as Champagne and Prosecco for More Card holders.
This approach by Morrisons mirrors similar strategies from Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and Asda, who have recently reduced prices on Christmas vegetables. Such initiatives collectively aim to help UK families enjoy festive meals without financial strain.
Morrisons’ strategic pricing moves bolster local farming and make festive meals more accessible across the UK.
