ResQ is set to significantly expand its presence in the Hammonds of Hull building, an iconic structure in Hull’s city center that has been subject to various transformations since its department store closed in 2019. With a focus on modernizing and utilizing prime urban space, ResQ will now occupy four floors of the building, effectively doubling its office capacity. Such expansion aligns with the company’s strategic growth ambitions and underscores Hull’s quest for economic revitalization.
Yorkshire Maintenance Company, a Hull-based developer, is orchestrating this £4.2 million development project. The firm will transform the first and second floors, currently occupied by ResQ, to also include the third and fourth floors. ResQ, which initially moved into the building in 2021 and expanded to the second floor by 2023, aims to create a larger and more efficient working environment. The outlines for this development were supported by £315,000 from the Levelling Up Fund, while £2.3 million was invested by ResQ itself, showcasing the company’s commitment to Hull’s economic landscape and long-term operations.
This ambitious project also reflects a collaborative financial approach, with the building’s landlord, Mansur Alabrah, contributing £1.9 million. Mansur Alabrah, a Saudi Arabian national who owns Redefine Paragon Square Hull Ltd., has been pivotal in facilitating this initiative. Such investments signify confidence in the potential and future of the building as a commercial hub.
Lane 7, a known brand for adult-oriented entertainment venues, had initially planned to bring a new dimension to the building’s ground floor with a bowling alley and games bar. Although the license was granted earlier this year, there have been no further developments or comment from Lane 7, leaving future prospects of this aspect uncertain.
The expansion of ResQ within the Hammonds of Hull building signals a significant step towards economic growth and urban revitalization in Hull.
