Three of Manchester’s well-known venues—Trof, Manchester Union Brewery, and Wandering Palate—are collaboratively launching a brand-new restaurant and bar named The Trading Route. The establishment is located strategically on Good Yards Street in the St John’s district, an area experiencing rapid development. Its proximity to other popular spots like Caravan restaurant and Aviva Studios adds to its appeal.
The Trading Route seeks to offer an enticing mix of culinary delights. The menu, developed by Trof, includes a purpose-built rotisserie for whole and half chickens cooked to crispy perfection, porchetta, and a variety of pickles and dips. Besides these, patrons can also enjoy focaccia, fresh salads, and homemade sweets. All these offerings are available from breakfast through dinner, ensuring that visitors have options throughout the day.
Wandering Palate, a favorite for its expertly sourced pantry items, will extend its offerings into the city center through this venture. Wines, cheeses, and deli favorites are part of the curated array designed to appeal to new audiences. Will Evans from Wandering Palate conveyed his enthusiasm about reaching a broader customer base and sharing their prized selections with the community.
Manchester Union Brewery sees The Trading Route as an informal tap room, featuring their lagers that are served using a unique continental-style pouring method in custom Tübinger glasses. Jamie Scahill of Manchester Union highlighted the long-anticipated collaboration, emphasizing how perfectly their offerings complement those from their partners.
Manchester’s studio PHAUS is credited with designing the venue’s layout, drawing from their experience with projects like Jane Eyre and Freight Island. The Trading Route can accommodate up to 150 guests with ample indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting patrons to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere while sampling a variety of quality food and drink.
The Trading Route represents a unique blend of Manchester’s culinary and brewing expertise, promising an exceptional experience in a dynamic district.
