Itsu, an Asian-inspired food chain, has added its premium sushi range to Tesco’s £5 meal deal, enhancing the lunchtime choices for shoppers. Starting October 21, customers will be able to select from Itsu’s dragon roll sushi range, which features four options: Teriyaki Salmon, Vegetable Crunch, Katsu Chicken, and California. Each sushi pack is uniquely packaged to prevent sauce spillage, providing a mess-free dining experience. This addition reflects the increasing popularity of sushi, which has outpaced traditional options like smoked salmon sandwiches as a preferred lunchtime choice in the UK.
In a strategic extension of its offerings, Itsu has also unveiled new products within its frozen food line. The rollout includes two varieties of frozen dumplings, featuring Chicken Soup and Vegetable Steamed options. Priced at £3 for six units, these dumplings can be conveniently microwaved in their packaging in just over two minutes, offering a quick and tasty meal solution.
Additionally, Itsu introduces three new veggie snacks into the frozen range: Vegetable Tempura Fries, Glazed Miso Aubergine, and Pumpkin Crispy Fritters. Each snack is priced at £3.25 and designed to serve as either a main dish or an accompaniment. These products are aimed at expanding the consumer’s culinary options while maintaining convenience and quality.
Currently, Itsu’s frozen dumplings are available in Waitrose, Morrisons, and Asda. By November 4, these offerings will also extend to Tesco’s shelves, bringing more diversity to food choices available to customers.
Itsu’s collaboration with Tesco underscores a growing demand for convenient and diverse meal solutions in the UK market.
