Footasylum, an established name in the fashion retail sector, has fortified its leadership team with strategic appointments aimed at driving future growth. This move underscores the company’s commitment to bolstering its market position through adept leadership.
Joining Footasylum as the Chief Commercial Officer is Will Van Rensburg, a seasoned industry expert. Having transitioned from Clarks where he served as Senior Vice President of Commercial, Van Rensburg brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at Under Armour, notably as the Global Commercial Director. In his new role, he will be pivotal in executing strategies to amplify Footasylum’s commercial operations.
Glen Wilkinson joins as Senior Buying Director, further strengthening Footasylum’s leadership ranks. With an impressive career spanning senior roles at Ecco, Reebok, and New Balance, Wilkinson was most recently the head of buying and merchandising at AW LAB. Working alongside Chief Product Officer Leon Mullin, Wilkinson is expected to elevate Footasylum’s product strategy.
These leadership changes come on the heels of Footasylum’s robust financial year, wherein pre-tax profits more than doubled to £6 million and total revenues rose by 7% to £319.5 million. Notably, online sales surged by 15% to £134.9 million, complemented by a significant 87% increase in wholesale sales to £16.8 million, highlighting the company’s solid market performance.
CEO David Pujolar, appointed earlier in March, welcomed the new additions, emphasizing their extensive experience will be crucial as Footasylum aims to deepen its market reach and strengthen partnerships. Van Rensburg expressed enthusiasm for enhancing brand partnerships in the UK and beyond, while Wilkinson highlighted the company’s reputation for appealing to urban style leaders.
Footasylum’s leadership enhancements signal a decisive step towards sustained growth and market expansion.
