Bravissimo, a well-known retailer specializing in lingerie and swimwear for sizes D cup and above, has been acquired by the internationally recognized lingerie manufacturer Wacoal Europe. This acquisition signals a strategic expansion for Wacoal Europe, incorporating Bravissimo into its range of esteemed brands, which includes Wacoal, Freya, Fantasie, Elomi, and Goddess.
For many years, Bravissimo has been a retailer of Freya, Fantasie, and Elomi products, making this acquisition a natural progression in the relationship between the two companies. Despite the change in ownership, Bravissimo will continue to operate as a separate entity, with Leanne Cahill remaining at the helm as CEO, ensuring the company’s distinct brand identity and operations are maintained.
The operations of Bravissimo will remain firmly rooted in the UK, with its office and warehouse continuing to function out of Leamington Spa. Additionally, all Bravissimo retail locations throughout the UK are set to remain open, ensuring continuity for both employees and customers.
Leanne Cahill has expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating her intent to work closely with Wacoal Europe to ‘maximize the growth opportunities that our partnership will bring whilst maintaining Bravissimo’s heritage and the unique experience we offer our customers.’ Founder Sarah Tremellen has also added her voice, appreciating the longstanding collaboration with Wacoal’s brands and wishing success for the future efforts of both teams.
The acquisition heralds a promising new chapter for Bravissimo and Wacoal Europe in the lingerie industry.
