Tesco has unveiled its first-ever Finest Steakhouse range, marking a significant enhancement to its meat aisle with a focus on premium quality and variety. This new offering consists of a dedicated fixture set to appear in more than 150 large stores throughout England and Wales. Designed to deliver a gourmet steakhouse experience at home, the range includes a variety of selections to cater to different preferences and occasions.
At the core of this launch are premium cut sharing steaks, such as T-bone, bone-on sirloin, Flat Iron, and Cote du Boeuf. For those preferring single steaks, options such as aged rump, sirloin, ribeye, and thick-cut fillet are available. These steaks boast of being British Aberdeen Angus, meticulously dry-aged for up to 35 days, and hand-trimmed by expert butchers, ensuring the highest quality and flavor.
Beyond traditional steak offerings, Tesco introduces alternative mains to this lineup, including Wagyu burgers, duck breast supremes, slow-cooked Ossobuco, pork belly, and smoky beef ribs. Complementing these mains are a selection of premium sides such as triple-cooked chips, rarebit dauphinoise potatoes, and truffle mac & cheese. A range of steak sauces and butters, featuring options like truffle butter with cracked black pepper, enhances the dining experience.
In a forward-thinking approach, the packaging for these products is crafted from high-quality cardboard and features detailed information, including recommended wine pairings, chef’s tips, and first-time inclusions of meat thermometer cooking guides. This reflects Tesco’s commitment to enhancing the culinary experience of its customers by providing them with the necessary tools to achieve restaurant-quality meals at home.
According to Matt Kay, the group brand director, “Our customers love finding ways to treat themselves at home, and Tesco Finest showcases our best quality ingredients, pulled together by our expert teams and suppliers to create something truly special.” Kay emphasizes that the new Finest Steakhouse range is inspired by the gourmet steakhouse experience and aims to cater to anyone seeking to enjoy restaurant-quality meals at home with ease and convenience.
