Regis Rimbert has been named the new chief executive officer of Wolford, a prominent Austrian lingerie brand, effective June 14. His appointment follows the departure of Silvia Azzali, who led the company since July 2023, leaving for personal reasons. Rimbert’s return to the brand marks an 11-year interval since his previous role as chief commercial officer and head of sales.
Regis Rimbert’s career spans over three decades in the fashion retail industry, with a portfolio of senior and executive roles at renowned brands. He worked at Prada between 1997 and 1999 and at Christian Dior Couture from 2000 to 2006. More recently, he served as director overseeing group retail, e-commerce, and licenses at Lanvin Group from 2013 to 2018. His expertise is expected to contribute significantly to Wolford’s future direction.
Rimbert’s notable experience with the Lanvin Group, where he was employed until 2018, precedes his founding of an AI-powered retail management agency, Uptify. His time at the Lanvin Group coincided with the acquisition of both Lanvin Group and Wolford by Chinese financial investor Fosun. Wolford’s integration within the Lanvin Group portfolio is part of a larger strategic framework.
Industry leaders have expressed their optimism regarding Rimbert’s leadership. Lanvin Group’s chairman, Zhen Huang, emphasized a vision to leverage Wolford’s brand legacy to drive further growth. Eric Chan, the CEO of Lanvin Group, remarked on Rimbert’s extensive experience and visionary leadership as ideal for meeting customer needs and pioneering new fashion trends. Silvia Azzali was also acknowledged for her valuable contributions to the brand during her tenure as CEO.
The appointment of Regis Rimbert as CEO is a strategic move by Wolford and Lanvin Group to harness expertise and innovate within the fashion industry.
