Ocado is extending its price-cutting initiative by reducing prices on an additional 200 branded and own-label items. This effort is part of their ‘Big Price Drop’ campaign, aimed primarily at aiding families as the school season commences. Prices have been slashed by an average of 8%, making everyday essentials more accessible for consumers.
Among the items benefiting from this reduction are household staples such as Heinz Beans, now priced at £3.75, down by 25p. Walkers Ready Salted Crisps and Ocado’s own-range easy peelers have both seen a 10p decrease in their cost. A notable highlight is the 29% reduction in the price of Copella Apple Juice, now available for £2, compared to its previous price of £2.80.
The price cuts also encompass snackable items, with fruit prices experiencing an average reduction of 10%. This initiative serves as a continuation of Ocado’s previous effort in June, which saw over 100 branded, own-label, and M&S everyday essential items, such as butter, cheese, and bread, receiving price adjustments.
Hannah Gibson, the CEO of Ocado Retail, remarked on the company’s objectives stating, ‘Ocado is known for our amazing service and unbeatable choice – and delivering great value is just as important to us.’ She highlighted that the recent price cuts are focused on assisting with school-related shopping needs, encompassing a variety of big-name brands, Ocado own-range products, and M&S items.
Gibson further reiterated the company’s dedication to offering reassuringly good value and mentioned their efforts to soon expand the range of products included in the ‘Big Price Drop.’
These strategic price reductions by Ocado are set to provide consumers with enhanced value and affordability during the back-to-school period.
