Sainsbury’s is reintroducing its acclaimed Nectar ‘Great fruit & veg challenge’ this year, encouraging customers to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their diets. Through this campaign, shoppers stand to gain a minimum of 1,000 bonus Nectar points by fulfilling three customized portion tasks tailored to their shopping habits. This initiative is accessible via the Nectar app and remains open for enrollment throughout its duration, from August 23 to October 10.
Participants in the seven-week challenge can accumulate points by purchasing fresh, tinned, frozen, or dried fruits and vegetables. Additionally, the rewarded bonus points are redeemable across various partner platforms, which include Sainsbury’s, Argos, Esso, and eBay. This aligns with Sainsbury’s aim to assist consumers in making healthier dietary choices, complemented with recipe ideas and guidance on food waste and storage.
The campaign builds on the success of last year’s challenge, which led to the purchase of an impressive 88 million portions of fruits and vegetables. Moreover, participating consumers bought more than three times the amount of produce compared to non-participants. Alex Lovell, Sainsbury’s head of loyalty marketing, noted the success of the previous year with over 580,000 customers participating and a total of 106 million bonus points awarded. He emphasized the ongoing commitment to this initiative, highlighting the enhanced points availability this year, “We know how important it is for our customers to eat a varied and healthy diet, and that’s why we’re bringing back the Great fruit & veg challenge for yet another year.”
The return of Sainsbury’s Nectar challenge underscores the company’s commitment to promoting health-conscious decisions among its customers.
