M&S is launching ‘Sparks Super Saturday,’ an exciting venture where 5,000 customers will have the opportunity to receive their entire shopping haul free of charge this coming Saturday. This unique event expands upon M&S’s acclaimed Sparks rewards program, which traditionally offers a weekly free shopping opportunity to one customer at each store.
Since the relaunch of its Sparks loyalty scheme in 2020, M&S has distributed £3.5 million in free shopping to its members, creating significant buzz and solidifying customer loyalty. Participants simply need to scan their Sparks card when shopping in-store or log into their account when shopping online to qualify. In-store shoppers are instantly notified of their win, while online shoppers receive email notifications.
Director of M&S Connect, Kirsty Ward, emphasized the company’s commitment to rewarding its customers. “And one of Sparks’ members most loved rewards is the opportunity to get their shopping for free so, for one day only, we’re supersizing it and giving 5,000 lucky customers the opportunity to get their shopping for free,” she stated.
As M&S continues to grow its market share in the grocery sector—with a notable 11% increase in like-for-like food sales over a 19-week period—this event also aligns with their strategic goals.
Simultaneously, Aldi is hosting a competition via Facebook, where customers can win £100 shopping vouchers by sharing their bank holiday weekend plans. This contest is open until August 21, with winners announced the following day.
