Alo Yoga, known for its luxurious athleisure wear, is stepping into the UK market with the launch of its first flagship store on London’s iconic King’s Road. This marks a notable entry for the Los Angeles-based brand, as it occupies a 4,000 sq ft retail space, strategically chosen to introduce its range to a new demographic.
The flagship store is not just a standalone venture. Alo Yoga has ambitious plans to expand further within London, with two more locations already scheduled. In summer 2024, the brand will open a store on Regent Street featuring a gym and wellness club, indicating its forward-thinking approach to retail. An additional store will launch on Brompton Road by autumn 2024, with further growth anticipated across Europe.
The brand’s co-founder and co-CEO, Danny Harris, emphasized the positive alignment between Alo Yoga’s values and the cultural lifestyle of Europe. ‘As a brand which supports wellbeing, Alo has a strong synergy with the cultured lifestyle enjoyed in the UK and Europe,’ stated Harris. This synergy is central to Alo Yoga’s strategy, focusing on guest experience and community connection.
Alo Yoga was established in 2007 by Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge, initially offering yoga apparel. The brand has since broadened its product range to include items such as joggers, dresses, trainers, and accessories. It is already present in high-end UK stockists like Selfridges and Harrods, and offers online shopping through major platforms such as Marks & Spencer and Net-a-Porter.
Alo Yoga’s UK expansion signifies a strategic move to align with European cultural and lifestyle values.
