Liverpool Council has sanctioned the construction of a five-story hotel near Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock. The strategic location on Regent Road promises guests spectacular views of the new 52,888-capacity stadium, enhancing the neighborhood’s appeal.
The project will rejuvenate a site currently hosting industrial buildings, including a historical Grade II listed former mill on Blackstone and Fulton Streets. This venture, led by Fast Growth Homes, involves repurposing the mill into 32 hotel rooms, with an additional 48 in a new structure. Combining heritage preservation with modern development, the design showcases early fireproof warehouse architecture from the mid-19th century.
Dylan Jones, representing Fast Growth Homes, emphasized the site’s storied past of hosting hospitality ventures, referencing the now-destroyed American Hotel. The site’s history dates to the 1850s, initially serving as storage for agricultural products before evolving into an artist hub and later falling into disuse. Restoration efforts aim to retain original features such as cast-iron door frames and brickwork, reported by the Liverpool Echo, ensuring the mill’s historical essence is preserved.
The forthcoming hotel will feature a four-story design integrating a basement, with a central lounge and reception area connecting the Regent and Fulton Bars on the ground floor. Proximity to the stadium is a significant asset, anticipated to attract guests and engage the community.
