Alison Lacy steps into the role of Chief Operating Officer at Radical Forge, a prominent games studio located in Middlesbrough. Coming from Avalanche Studios Group, where she held the position of Location Manager in Liverpool for four years, Lacy is no stranger to leadership roles. Prior to this, she contributed significantly to Bentley Motors over a six-year tenure, primarily as Director of Brand Lifestyle.
Her professional journey includes a stint at Sony’s Evolution Studios, where she excelled as a Senior Producer. Lacy is actively engaged in the gaming industry beyond her executive roles, co-chairing the skills organization GameChangers and serving on the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Digital & Creative Cluster Board.
In her own words, Lacy expressed her excitement about joining Radical Forge, stating, “Their attitude and approach, combined with a genuinely ‘people first’ philosophy is totally refreshing, and I’m looking forward to making a big difference there.” This suggests that Lacy’s leadership style aligns well with Radical Forge’s ethos.
The timing of her appointment is strategic, coinciding with Radical Forge securing a substantial £2.6m investment from NPIF. This financial boost is aimed at furthering the studio’s development projects, including the upcoming launch of their physics-based farming game, Southfield.
CEO Bruce Slater welcomes Lacy to the team with high expectations, emphasizing her innovative thinking and potential impact. Slater mentions, “As soon as I met her a couple of years ago, I was hit by how differently she thought and how impactful she could be in the right studio.” This marks the beginning of a potentially transformative period for Radical Forge as they continue to expand and innovate.
Alison Lacy’s appointment as COO is poised to drive positive transformation at Radical Forge.
