The Flow Group, based in Brighouse, has taken a significant step by acquiring Modern Bookbinders, located in Blackburn, for an undisclosed sum. The transaction involves a well-established family business that manufactures magazine and loose-leaf binders, as well as slipcases and achievement folders, serving clients such as Manchester United.
Richard Standing, the Managing Director of The Flow Group, highlighted the critical nature of this acquisition in maintaining the heritage of a decades-old business. “We are incredibly proud to carry forward the legacy of Modern Bookbinders. When we saw that a business with nearly a century of history was at risk of being dissolved, we knew we had to step in,” he stated.
The acquisition includes the full spectrum of Modern Bookbinders’ operations, encompassing its machinery, equipment, stock, and customer base after the facility was put up for sale by Managing Director Warren Eastwood. In a move that supports business continuity, Eastwood will continue to contribute in a consultative role.
The integration process is set to reconfigure The Flow Group’s Yorkshire premises by incorporating Modern Bookbinders’ machinery and key personnel. This strategic move is carefully planned to enhance The Flow Group’s ability to deliver high-quality document storage and presentation materials.
