Amazon Fresh has inaugurated a new store in West Hampstead, the first such opening in a year. This event comes after the closure of three Amazon Fresh stores in 2023 as part of a strategic reevaluation of their retail presence.
The West Hampstead location offers a comprehensive selection of grocery items including fresh produce, dairy, bakery supplies, and premium food selections under the ‘byAmazon’ and ‘Our Selection’ labels. Additionally, it caters to various meal preferences by providing hot and iced drinks, meal deals, and a wide range of alcoholic beverages.
In an enticing promotional offer, consumers are granted a 20% discount on any shop priced at £10 or more when paying via the Amazon app, valid until December 31. This initiative aims to attract customers and increase store traffic during the festive season.
The store integrates ‘Just Walk Out’ technology, enhancing customer convenience by allowing them to exit the store without traditional checkouts, using a QR code that pops up automatically on their Amazon app when near the store. Self-checkout facilities are also available for those who prefer traditional payment methods.
Prior to this opening, Amazon Fresh had halted its grocery delivery services in Glasgow, Portsmouth, Leeds, Sheffield, and Newcastle, reflecting a shift in operational strategies focused on optimizing their in-person retail offerings.
The new Amazon Fresh store marks a pivotal move in enhancing its retail presence post-closures.
