Notably, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at Asda, where he directed the UK retail operations for six years, gaining invaluable expertise that he now brings to Boots.
At Boots, Hemmerdinger has been instrumental in spearheading initiatives that have transformed the company. Under his leadership as Retail and Operations Director since 2022, Boots has undergone significant enhancements in its beauty segment, expanding brand offerings and refitting in-store beauty halls. Moreover, his efforts have strengthened Boots’ healthcare services, broadening the spectrum of treatments available to both NHS and private patients.

Seb James, the outgoing Managing Director, has been lauded for his transformative impact on Boots, notably expanding its beauty offerings and enhancing pharmacy services.
