Australian footwear and clothing brand RM Williams has made a notable move in the UK market with the opening of a new store in the bustling town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Known for its high-quality and durable products, RM Williams is expanding its presence beyond Australia’s borders with strategic partnerships in the UK.
In an effort to broaden its market reach, RM Williams has successfully secured placements in three of the UK’s most prestigious department stores: Harrods, Selfridges, and Liberty. This move not only reflects the brand’s ambition but also its ability to align with top-tier retailers in competitive markets.
Renowned for their signature one-piece leather construction, RM Williams boots offer exceptional durability and a sleek, seamless appearance. This craftsmanship is a testament to the brand’s commitment to quality and innovation in footwear design.
The new Marlow store, occupying 1,700 square feet at 46 High Street, opened its doors on 10th October. It’s the first to launch outside Australia since 2017, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s international journey. A second store is set to open in Cambridge come December.
Paul Grosmann, CEO of RM Williams, expressed enthusiasm about the UK expansion strategy. “The UK has been part of the RM Williams story for many decades and we’re thrilled that our next chapter of UK investment is spearheaded by the impressive new Marlow opening,” he stated. This reveals RM Williams’ long-term commitment to the UK market, further underlined by the strategic recruitment of UK general manager Karl Wederell, formerly of Aesop.
RM Williams has maintained a presence in the UK for over two decades, initially establishing its international footprint with a store in Knightsbridge in 1989. Now, with additional outlets in London and around 90 wholesale partners nationwide, the brand continues to reinforce its standing within the competitive UK retail sector.
As RM Williams continues to grow in the UK, its strategic expansions signal a robust commitment to international markets.
