Ger Wright, who has led the sport division at Frasers Group since 2022, is set to leave her position as Managing Director at the end of November. During her time with the company, she has played a pivotal role in shaping and executing the group’s strategic initiatives aimed at elevating its sports offerings.
Wright’s leadership has been marked by significant developments, including the addition of new running and outdoor concepts, which have been integral to the evolution of the company’s sports proposition. Although Wright will step down from her operational role, she will remain involved with Frasers Group as a non-executive director, bringing her seasoned insight and industry knowledge to the board. Frasers Group continues its expansion with strategic moves in the Benelux region. Following the earlier acquisition of Sprinter stores in the Netherlands, the company plans to open a total of nine Sports World stores in the country, with four already operational and five more scheduled by the end of the year. Additionally, new store locations are planned in Luxembourg and Belgium, cementing Frasers Group’s growth ambitions in the European market.
