Ganni, a renowned Danish fashion brand, has recently shuttered its UK head office, marking a strategic pivot towards establishing Paris as a primary global platform. This move affects the company’s 19 London-based employees, with 10 expected to transition to alternative roles, potentially relocating to Ganni’s offices in Paris and Copenhagen.
The closure of the London office falls under a larger organizational strategy aimed at consolidating Ganni’s operational hubs. Presently, the company maintains significant offices in Paris, where the new CEO Laura du Rusquec is based, and its headquarters remain in Copenhagen, Denmark. Additionally, Ganni operates regional offices in New York and Shanghai, further illustrating their international reach.
Prior to the closure, Ganni’s UK operations included 53 employees spread across five stores and the London office. Despite the office shutdown, the brand intends to sustain its footprint in the UK through its existing retail locations, which comprise four stores in London and one outlet in Bicester Village. Ganni’s products continue to be available at prominent retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Selfridges, and various independent shops.
Former CEO Andrea Baldo, who has recently taken on the role of CEO at Mulberry, communicated the strategic shift to London staff. In an internal email, Baldo emphasized the importance of Paris in Ganni’s global branding efforts. The vision is to enhance the brand’s presence and operational efficiency by focusing resources on key international locations.
Ganni remains committed to its UK presence while strategically consolidating its European operations.
