Rodd & Gunn, a name synonymous with premium outdoor lifestyle apparel, is making significant strides by enhancing its physical retail presence across the United Kingdom. Three new outlets have recently been inaugurated in key regional cities, marking an important expansion beyond the confines of London.
The latest stores are located at 67 George Street in Edinburgh, New Bond Street in Bath, and The Square in Winchester. Notably, the Edinburgh location is Rodd & Gunn’s first venture into the Scottish market, occupying a 1,504 square foot space that opened last month. The Bath store covers 3,735 square feet, while the Winchester shop spans 3,344 square feet, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to substantial retail investments in these locales.
According to Mike Beagley, CEO of Rodd & Gunn, strong brand resonance with UK consumers has unveiled unparalleled growth prospects. Beagley indicated that the brand’s rapid expansion has been fueled by its successful concession model with John Lewis, as well as a robust e-commerce framework that complements its physical storefronts.
Launched only recently, these new locations in Edinburgh, Bath, and Winchester have shown encouraging early performance. “Our strategic move to open further stores across the UK, initiated in late March, has already yielded success,” Beagley states, fueling optimism for the UK market’s potential.
These developments coincide with Rodd & Gunn’s ambitious plan to establish up to 40 new sites over the next five years, highlighting the brand’s forward-thinking approach to growth within the region.
In alignment with the brand’s expansion strategy, Alex Glavas from Savills remarked on the growing demand for premium menswear throughout the UK. Rodd & Gunn’s presence, particularly beyond London, meets the increasing consumer appetite for high-quality retail experiences, reinforcing their already significant global presence.
Rodd & Gunn’s calculated expansion into regional UK markets sets a promising precedent for its future growth.
