- Superdry’s restructuring plan aims to reduce store numbers and prevent administration.
- Superdry has appointed Dafydd Moore as technology director, indicating shifts in leadership.
Superdry’s chief commercial officer, Craig McGregor, will soon be departing from his role as the company braces itself for significant restructuring. Having joined Superdry in March 2020 as a global retail director, McGregor later transitioned to global commercial director by November 2022, before attaining the role of chief commercial officer in January 2024. His departure comes at a pivotal time for Superdry, which is navigating through critical changes in its internal structure.
McGregor’s exit follows the stepping down of chief financial officer Shaun Wills on March 31. During this transformative period, Giles David, formerly the chief financial officer of McColl’s, has taken up the interim CFO position. The company is in the midst of seeking approval for a detailed restructuring plan, which aims notably to decrease its store footprint in efforts to avert potential administration. The sanction hearing concerning this plan is scheduled for June 17 and 18.
Superdry, in a statement, emphasized its focus on the restructuring plan formulated to secure the company’s future, without commenting on individual personnel matters. This reflects a standard policy of the company, which is currently not adjusting its leadership team except for a few appointments.
One recent strategic addition to the leadership is Dafydd Moore, who joined Superdry as technology director on June 3. Moore brings with him a wealth of experience from Halfords, where he served as the group director of IT strategy and architecture from August 2022, marking another step in Superdry’s strategic realignment.
Craig McGregor’s departure signifies a period of transformation for Superdry as it undergoes crucial restructuring.
