Wood Wood, a notable Danish fashion and lifestyle brand, has announced significant changes to its management team following its acquisition by Danish conglomerate DK Company in April 2024. The company faced insolvency in 2023, which led to the closure of its stores in London and Berlin.
The transition in leadership includes the appointment of Brian SS Jensen, co-founder of Wood Wood, to the role of Creative Director. Jensen, who established the brand in 2002 alongside Karl-Oskar Olsen, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It is a good occasion to return to a simpler and more honest Wood Wood and create collections that both respect our past and drive the brand’s development forward.”
Morten Dybdahl has been named as the new Brand Director. In addition to this new role, Dybdahl continues to serve as Brand Director for Matinique, another label under DK Company. His dual responsibilities are expected to foster synergies between the two brands.
Joining the team is Gitte Wetternt, who will take on the position of Head of Design. Wetternt, formerly a menswear designer for Samsøe Samsøe, will be collaborating closely with Jensen to steer the brand’s creative vision in its next phase.
These changes mark a strategic shift for Wood Wood as it seeks to revitalize its brand under the stewardship of DK Company, aiming to balance heritage with innovation.
