The city of Birmingham has unveiled a new residential project known as ‘Edition’, located at Brindley Drive. This ambitious development will consist of 581 apartments, distributed across two structures—one measuring 15 storeys and the other an impressive 46 storeys. Strategically positioned near The Library of Birmingham, the site integrates urban living with a plethora of resident amenities.
As the transformation begins on what is currently the Paradise Circus council car park, the Edition project will usher in 23,000 square feet of facilities, including a swimming pool, rooftop spa, private dining areas, co-working spaces, a cinema room, a skyline gym, and an outdoor terrace. These amenities are designed to cater to the diverse needs of future residents.
The Edition’s two buildings, Park Residence and Centenary Tower, will stand as symbols of contemporary urban architecture and are supported by the city’s long-term development strategy. This project was greenlit by city planners 18 months ago and is being meticulously executed by Court Collaboration, a developer rooted in Birmingham, in conjunction with Cheshire-based Select Property, which leads the marketing initiatives.
According to Thomas Taylor, the CEO of Court Collaboration, there has been enthusiastic interest in the Edition development. “We’re pleased to be working with Select Property as our strategic sales partner as we formally launch to the market,” he stated. This sentiment is echoed by Select Property’s CEO, Adam Price, highlighting Birmingham’s robust rental growth, driven by a 20-year city-center masterplan and exceptional transport infrastructure.
With a projected 25% population growth in Birmingham by 2040, the Edition presents a compelling investment opportunity, strategically positioned to attract both public and private investments. The lead contractor for the project is Midgard, ensuring the development adheres to the highest standards, with financial backing from PGIM Real Estate. Completion of the first phase is anticipated by 2027, aligning with the city’s vision for expansive growth.
The Edition project exemplifies Birmingham’s commitment to innovative urban development, reflecting the city’s ambitious growth trajectory.
