In a significant move within the digital and payments industry, a Devon-based digital firm has been acquired by a leading UK software and payments company. This strategic acquisition introduces new opportunities for integration and growth, as the firms combine their expertise to enhance service offerings.
GOb2b, with its headquarters in Kingsbridge, has established itself as a prominent business-to-business e-commerce solutions provider. Its comprehensive software assists businesses in managing stock levels, pricing strategies, and payment transactions efficiently. Noteworthy clients include major names such as Yokohama, a tire specialist, and Viatek, a consumer products group.
The acquisition by London-based ClearCourse allows GOb2b to capitalize on its partner’s expansive networks and substantial resources. This partnership enables ClearCourse to introduce its advanced payment solution to GOb2b’s customer network, fostering a mutually beneficial expansion.
Paul Dorey, the former chief executive of GOb2b, continues to play a pivotal role as a consultant following the acquisition. He emphasizes the synergies presented by the merger, focusing on harnessing these strengths to drive the next stage of growth for both enterprises. “Both businesses have a strong, complementary product offering that offers exciting potential for integration,” he remarked.
The acquisition process was facilitated with expertise from FRP Corporate Finance, with Simon Davies and Richard Boyden leading the transaction, assisted by senior manager Madhavi Morjaria. Simon Davies highlighted GOb2b’s robust customer base and the growth potential that ClearCourse’s experience and resources will unlock, enabling sustained high-quality service delivery. “GOb2b has built a robust customer base which has exciting growth potential,” Davies noted, expressing optimism for the future growth of the united companies.
The acquisition strategically aligns GOb2b and ClearCourse for enhanced growth, leveraging each other’s strengths.
