The board’s expansion is complemented by the appointment of Jason Sahota as chairman, an individual known for his extensive experience in technology leadership and advisory roles, particularly in nurturing start-ups and scale-ups in the region.
As the organization experiences this leadership shift, Kim Leary, who has remarkably served as chairwoman since 2020, graciously transitions from her role, maintaining her presence on the board. Her tenure is noted for steering the board from being highly operational to becoming a strategic powerhouse. In her own words, ‘I am most proud of transitioning the board to the diverse and strategic force it is now.’
Joining Sahota on the board are several new members, each bringing invaluable expertise and fresh perspectives. Among them is Elizabeth Zeddie Lawal, the founder of More Than A Moment creative agency, who assumes the role of vice-chairwoman. Additionally, Joanna Birch from Woodbourne and Daniel Campion of software firm Sitenna join the leadership team. These new members collectively contribute over 40 years of experience, significantly bolstering TechWM’s strategic direction.
These strategic appointments coincide with TechWM’s impressive financial performance, with reported revenue growth of 78% as of July 2024. The organization’s capacity for growth and development is further bolstered by the addition of Victoria Pargetter-Garner as director of digital skills and commercial impact, who joins from the University of Birmingham.
